Y5/6 Go Skating

Miss Ward organised a skating evening out for Y5/6 pupils . We took over 70 pupils to the Telford Ice Rink from Y5/6.

We were able to borrow a High School minibus, use out own minibus and book a coach.

We left school at 6.30 p.m . Mr Tibbetts and a parent who is a qualified minibus driver took the Y5/6 cohort to Telford with the rest travelling by a commercial coach.

Two lunchtime supervisors gave up their evening to join us.

We returned to school at 10.0 p.m.

Some of our pupils were already skilful skaters having been to an ice rink before. Some had never skated on ice and by the end of the evening, had managed to dispense with the safety rail.

Many pupils took a tumble or six!! And were able to exchange stories about their bruises the following day in school.

The pupils were extremely well behaved making it a lovely evening out for all concerned.

The Ice rink was a blaze of lights with a DJ
Were we expected to dance on ice?

Some pupils used the barrier to stop!
Ouch!!

Y5/6 Go Skating

The ice rink was so large, you wouldn't think more than 70 of our pupils wee skating there, would you?

Y5/6 Go Skating

Some of the people skating there, not from school, were really good. Mind you Christian Becks , Aaron Wilkes and the Robert's twins gave them a run for their money!

And needed a drink afterwards.

All these pictures have been taken by the school KON news team with the school camera being risked on an "Ice Rink"

I think Mrs Ward , the lunchtime staff and parents who came need to be given a special "thankyou" for making sure this event went ahead.

Miss Ward and I thought it was such a lovely event, school will do it again this term.
