The PTFA make a difference . . . .
At their meeting on Wednesday evening (14th June 2006) as well as discussing a whole range of fundraising ideas for our children ranging from strawberries and cream at the School Sports Day to a whole family local history trail the PTFA also addressed two queries from parents:
- A parent was concerned that not all the appropriate safety measures were in place on the building site at the Leisure Centre which many of our children walk past on their way to school. Although this is not on our school site the matter was addressed as having potential implications for our pupils. The Site Agent has been approached and safety discussed. The Site agent offers his sincere apologies for any concerns that have arisen. He also said that if in the future anyone has other concerns about the site, they should approach him and he will deal with it immediately.
- A child had commented to their parent that the locks on the toilet doors did not work. Fortunately our caretaker was present at the meeting and she was able to assure the meeting that all the toilet doors do lock with the exception of one cubicle in KS2 where the cubicle partition needs refitting to enable the lock to work. Someone is already booked to come & carry out the work. The morning following the meeting she rechecked the doors and WD40’d the bolts – just to be sure.
Many thanks to our PTFA members who make such an excellent contribution to our school.
