JULY 2005

SPORTS DAYS

Thanks to your generous support, we raised £179 selling refreshments on sports days. A big thank you to the children who went strawberry picking!

LAST TWO EVENTS OF THE SUMMER TERM

FASHION SHOW THURSDAY 14TH JULY AT 7.30pm

Tickets for £2 still on sale from the school office or from Vicky's Beauty Studio. Or call Linda on 07941 851022 or Sue on 07944 560722.

Top quality high street fashions in all sizes will be available to buy on the night.

If you can help us by donating refreshments (wine, soft drinks), please bring them into school by Wednesday 13th July.

LIBRARY MAKEOVER SATURDAY 16TH JULY 2005 FROM 10am

Thanks to the generous efforts of parents and the community, the school library has been replenished with new books costing over £1500. We are now refurbishing the library itself to make it a great place to learn.

On Saturday 16th July we are replacing outdated furniture (at a cost of over £3,300) and redecorating.

If you can spare a few hours to help, please come along - and if you have any paintbrushes, rollers, etc., please bring them with you! We'll be there from 10am.

AUDIO VISUAL EQUIPMENT

We have replaced the outdated audio visual equipment in school and spent approximately £4,500 on:

  • 3 x Combined DVD/VCR/TVs
  • 2 x digital cameras
  • 4 x CD/tape players
  • 1 x digital videcamcorder
  • 4 x Overhead projectors (fold up)
  • 2 x data projectors
  • 2 x screens (table mounted)
  • 4 headsets/lapel mikes plus receiver
  • Stage mikes and amp

OTHER FUND RAISING TARGETS

As you can see, we have committed a huge amount of money this year and we now need to start raising more for future projects, which include

  • new playground equipment
  • new fencing tsecure the playground

Please come along to our planned events in the autumn term which include:

  • Chocolates and Candles Thursday 20th October 2005
  • Christmas Fayre Friday 25th November 2005

NEXT PTFA MEETING

The next PTFA meeting is scheduled for Thursday 15th September at 7pm in the school staff room. If you have any ideas for unusual fund raising activities, we would love to see you there!!
