Going Out by Sian Llloyd

Going Out

Going Out

We are going to a restaurant
The kids get in the car
Clothes are freshly cleaned
All is well, so far

Finally at the restaurant
And out they all get
I’m very pleased to say
They’re not a mess yet

"I really need the toilet Mum!"
Just wait a minute Kate
"But Mum, I need it NOW!"
Hang on, whoops! Too late

At last we’re ready, I’ve cleaned up Kate
Now can we order food
"Sam, will you stop pointing?
You know that is rude"

"Leave alone the candle Billy
Getting burnt isn’t fun
I said leave it Billy
Oh now look what you’ve done!"

The table is on fire now
Holly is burning her hair
I just went out for a treat
And now made everyone stare

Children and customers screaming
Please Lord this is a dream
In all the mess and the noise
All I could do was scream

Going home kids are angels
Perfect in every way
Maybe after forethought
I’ll scream myself every day
