The Girl in the Fire Place

My favourite programme on the television
Thump, Thump, Thump, down the stair I Thump
Swish, swish I open the living room door..
I freeze in shock.
BANG the door shuts behind me.
CLICK. I hear the click of the lock.
I spin around
Running, screaming to the door
I won't open.
I stare at the eyes of the ghostly girl
In my fire place
Her eyes as red as the fire itself
Her face as pale and dead as stone
Her eyes glaring at me
I start to shiver.
Then remember
I can feel it but not stop it
I'm staking
It's almost as if she herself is controlling me!
There is no breeze or wind in the house
But the rags hanging from her dress are blowing and on fire.
She does not move.
Not even blink.
I'm screaming inside
But silent inside.
It's almost as if she doesn't want me to be scared
Wow!
I've stopped shaking and now I am scared she is controlling me
My eyes well up until I can see no longer
I blink...
All that is left is some rags from her dress!
She is gone forever
All that is left is some rags from her dress!
The door is open behind me.
I can hear the family come down to watch TV!
