A Harvest Festival with a difference

This picture shows just a fraction of the toiletries
and food donated by generous families.

This year our main focus was on helping disadvantaged people in our local area by donating food and toiletries to The Glebe Centre in Walsall which works with homeless people.

Each year group prepared something for our Harvest festival.

Year 1 sang a lovely harvest song; year 2 treated us to some poems they had written; year 3 fascinated us all with an item on ‘mummified fruit’ (which linked with their Egypt topic); Y4 did group recitations of some lovely poems; year 5 told us about healthy eating and exercise which they finished with a gym display; Year 6 rounded things off by doing a short play about homelessness followed by a series of posters about all the things we can be thankful for.

The collection of goods for The Glebe centre will continue until next weekend.
