The school has really made a big push on taking away the focus on school successes being purely based on SAT results.

We have promoted "Speaking and Listening" and “Drama”  and that actually contributes to SAT success in English.

  1. Speaking and Listening  2. Reading and  3.Writing

Are the three platforms of success for a pupil to be confident, articulate and writing with a purpose, choosing the correct mode of writing (genre) for the person receiving /reading the pupil’s  writing

This is taught in a variety of ways in our school and Drama lessons very important in the process.

Drama is actually a subject and life skill in its own right, but its contribution to the English curriculum has for years been understated but now being  realised as a force for learning.

Our school has pioneered the National Association For the Teaching of English  "Cracking Drama" materials at Primary School level having modified and adopted them.

The results have been outstanding.

Unfortunately, I  can’t video and teach at the same time.

Neither could Mr Hughes who asked his Classroom Assistant to take the photos.
