On the 5th of October 2005, 10 lucky pupils: James Alton, Joel Manifold , Jordan Burton , Jack Taylor , Keiran Whale , Jacob Thompson ,Ben Nick Tonkinson, Gregg and Daniel all went to St John's Essington to take part in a 5 school tornament The first race was year 3 and 4 . Gregg and Dan were entered for the half mile race. As the race started everyone was shouting and screaming. Gregg and Dan were gave it their best but sadly did not get into the final 10. They both did well considering there were only 2 of them. The next race was year 5 and 6 . We all fighting over who would stand at the front! "3.2.1".... the race started. James Alton was in the lead from the start. As the race went on he was getting further away . Then suddenly a pupil from another school overtook him. During the last 300 yards James sprinted and flew past the pupil in the lead. James even had time to pose to for Mr T's camera before carrying on running to the finishing line in first place. Keiran Whale came in 3rd place at the end
