It all happened while Matthew and his Dad were watching the tennis on television. Matthew's Dad said he was going to go to sleep for 5 or 10 minutes, after 5 or 10 minutes Matthew was asking his Dad if he could go and play with his friend, but his Dad was not answering him. Matthew phoned the next door neighbour, who came around to the house and telephoned the ambulance for Matthew's Dad. The ambulance arrived and proceeded to take Matthew's Dad to the Manor Hospital in Walsall, where Matthew's Dad made a full recovery thanks to the quick thinking and bravery of Matthew Shaw.
