Foundation Years Induction Evening for New Parents

Thursday, 18 October 2001

New parents to the school were introduced to the Foundation Unit with activities set out on tables and staff on hand to explain them.

This was followed by a meeting in the Large Hall where parents were introduced to Governors and key school staff and Governors.

The Headteacher outlined the aims and objectives of the school followed by a comprehensive explanation of the pupil induction process and curriculum by Sue Ashley.

Parents were given an opportunity to ask burning questions after which they were given a tour of the school which provided a whole school context to the work of the Foundation Years.

The parents congregated in the Hall for an introduction to the school’s philosophy, PTFA, Governors and key staff.

(They were also encouraged to surf the school website and use the parent forum to ask questions)

School staff and Governors felt that it was a very helpful evening for new parents to the school.

We hope you new parents felt both re-assured and confident in the school’s ability to induct your child into a very new way of working. (If you felt there were issues that we should have addresses that weren’t on the agenda, either contact us at school or use the website to pose your question)
