Teddy Bears Steal Reception Lunchboxes

Reception's Teddy Bear's picnic on Cannock Chase Friday 8th October

After being caught "spoon handed" eating porridge in the classroom, Reception continued with their "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" theme by taking a teddy bear and lunch to Cannock chase for a picnic.

On arrival they were met by members of the Forestry Commission team who asked them to leave their teddy bears with their sandwiches in a classroom while they welcomed the children to the Birches valley centre.

But on returning to the classroom both
bears and sandwich boxes had gone.

The children were told that the bears were hungry and had stolen their lunch to eat secretly in the woods.

Immediately the whole party set off to try and find the bears.

The Forestry Commission leader spotted one racing ahead. Some of the reception children were convinced they'd also seen one of the bears running into the bushes.

Every so often there would be a clue left by the bears. It was called a SWAF clue! ("Shelter, Water Air and Safety" which was the science work the children were really being taught in their search for the bears!)

Have you seen my bear?

Mine could be under those bushes!

When we arrived back at the classroom, both the bears and the picnics were back where they came from. The bears had played a trick on reception!
Time for lunch!

After lunch there was time to play
