The School Reception theme is "Living and Growing"
The baby clinic in reception
Important numbers to dial. The current Foundation Years project is called "Living and Growing" This is a science and humanities integrated project and part of the Early Learning Goals" curriculum. The Maths dimension involved pupils guessing the weight of a baby doll and then weighing it on a pair of scales. It is an exciting project which will culminate in a baptism of two baby dolls by a local vicar on Friday. This will be followed by a party with every pupil dressed in costume for the occasion. The project has gained the attention of Staffordshire Education Early Years Officers as a model other schools should follow. Living and growing applies to plants and human beings. It is all interlinked. Pupils in the Foundation Years have been given the opportunity to grow plants form seed and make sense of a new birth in the family and the attendant religious ceremonies attending that new birth in a family.
