Someone in the Early Years Was it Mrs Britton, Miss Ryder or Mrs Banks!
It wasn't my teachers and it certainly wasn't me! The Early Years have had the story of Peter Pan and Wendy as the central topic for this half term which culminated in a "Pirates' Party" on Friday 13th February. The Early Learning Goals curriculum enables the staff to thread a theme throughout all the subjects in the curriculum where the staff feel it is relevant.. On Friday 13th, pupils and staff dressed as Pirates, Peter Pan, or Tinkerbell and played Pirate games followed by a Pirate Party in the afternoon.
A "swash-buckling" Miss Ryder working with pupils
Pirates painting
It's not a "black eye" it's a patch!
All aboard the Jolly Roger in the home corner
A pirate cake made ready for the party which followed
A chocolate treasure chest!
Sea Monster jelly with horrid creatures to eat
Mrs Richards' daughter helps out in the party
Here! A lovely project and a lovely day. Thanks to the Early Years' Staff for planning it and thanks to all you parents who went to a lot of time and trouble to turn your child into a Pirate for the day. It is a day your child will remember. Martin Tibbetts Friday, 20 February 2004 |
