Reception and the tale of the teddy bears
In the heart of Cannock Chase, Reception pupils went with their favourite teddy bear to have a picnic in the forest While the centre staff talked to them, the bears stole the picnic lunches and made off into the forest to eat them. The pupils decided they had better go and look for them unaware that this was a ploy to teach them about wild life habitats! Their cuddly friends left clues all around the forest which also taught them about these habitats
First message left by one of the bears
Another habitat-another clue
Has someone spotted one of the "naughty bears"? (The delightful dimension of this trip is that the pupils actually believe it.) The pupils, after the forest trail, end up back at the centre to find that their teddy bears had played a dastardly trick on them and both bears and packed lunch were waiting for their return!
Looking for bears is hard work and I need a nap!
Meanwhile back at school, the "home corner"
Dressing up clothes on hangers
"Who has been eating my porridge?!"
And postcards sent in the role of Baby Bear!
This piece of writing is outstanding for a Reception aged child two moths into the new school year.
