Coven 2004 Dear Parents, The dates of the Year 5 and 6 residential visit to Coven Outdoor Education Centre are 27th September to the 1 October 2004. We will be taking Year 5 pupils for the first time from C.H.P.S., although children from Year 3 upwards use and enjoy the centres on a regular basis. The youngsters will be able to take part in a whole range of activities, which will teach them skills and give them experiences that they may never get the chance to learn again. They will be given full board accommodation in tents. The planned programme of activities and further information will be given at a meeting to be held in school on Thursday 9th September at 7pm. Qualified Staffordshire teachers, who are experts in this field, staff the centre. The children will also be accompanied by Cheslyn Hay teachers who will stay at the centre with them. The full cost of the week (including specialised tuition, full board, accommodation, use of all equipment and transport) is £67, plus 5 days insurance. The cost of the insurance is usually less than £2 and is payable separately. We will notify you when we have the exact figure. All cheques are to be made payable to Staffordshire County Council with cheque guarantee card number on reverse. The centre makes no charge for children whose parents are on Income Based Job Seekers Allowance, those in receipt of support under Part 6 of the Immigration and asylum Act 1999, and child Tax Credit, where the parent is not entitled to Working Tax credit and whose annual income (as assessed by the Inland Revenue) does not exceed £13,230, and Invalid Care Allowance. If you are claiming any of these benefits please bring proof into the school office. Payment can be brought into school between Tuesday 7th September and Monday 20th September. No money brought before the Summer holidays please.
