Laches Wood, Coven Diary 3

Tuesday evening / Wednesday morning

Coven Diary

On Tuesday evening we had an orienteering competition around the site. Following a session when we were taught how to read and use our maps everyone set out in pairs with maps, record sheets, wax crayons, recording sheets and torches to see who could find the map points the quickest.

Coven Diary

Everyone raced around – some following their maps and others following the greatest mass of torches. Orienteering was followed by writing up our diaries, a supper of biscuits, hot chocolate or squash and a bedtime story. Most of us fell into bed just after 9 O’clock – then chatted and talked for a while before falling asleep.

Wednesday morning  - Bethany’s Big Day – her eleventh birthday! We are sharing the centre with children from Norton Canes who were clearly impressed by the volume of our singing Happy Birthday!

Duties and bedroom inspections were followed by our activities of Search and Rescue, Climbing and Pond studies.

Coven Diary

The staff here are very impressed by the excellent behaviour and enthusiasm of the children – they are working together as teams and really helping and supporting each other in all\the activities – as well as having lots of fun.
