After the evening meal on Monday, each team was assigned to duties to help keep the camp site tidy. Teams are allocated points to their weekly tally for the tasks they are assigned to.

This group took part in the "Picture Detective" assignment identifying features of the site from pictures on a sheet.

Breakfast 8.0 a.m Tuesday, 28 September 2004

The children were superb during the night. They went to sleep early and stayed in their tents until the morning bell at 7.30 a.m

Breakfast consisted of a choice of cereals, beans on toast followed by toast and marmalade.

After breakfast there was an opportunity to tidy up the tents followed by team duties.

After a briefing about the food change a pond habitat, the teams were given a net and collecting tray to see what animals lurked amongst the weeds.

The next task was to identify and classify the pond life using key cards, microscopes and magnifying glasses.

The morning session finished with a superb lesson about the vulnerability of the food chain and the implications for pond life if one key species disappeared.
