Y6 don’t like "smokers"
Part of the Y6 display which is part of the National Curriculum and our “Healthy Schools” agenda. Y6 looked into the dangers of smoking which can damage many vital organs especially the heart and lungs. Smoking can increase the risk of heart attacks and lung cancer , when caused by smoking cigarettes, is rarely curable and not a painless death. The biggest uptake in the UK of smokers are female and in their teens. Smoking is now banned in many restaurants, workplaces and a growing number of pubs. It is totally banned in buildings in Scotland.
A clear message
Take heed of the message. People only start smoking at school and do so because their mates do so(often at High School ) and if you don’t follow you are a wimp , “not cool” and not part of the group. If any current pupil in Y6 is offered a cigarette a couple of years on from now. Think about the Health consequences Nationally it is no longer cool to smoke You can say no and still be best friends with your mates. If they continue to smoke statistically you will live longer than your mates.
