Previous members of 6H return to school
during the lunch hour.

The High School and Primary School lunch hours now largely coincide with each other.

When the weather is warm and High School/ Junior Primary School pupils can use the shared playing fields during the lunch hour, Y6 and Y7 mix freely.

I think I have met with nearly all last year’s Y6 on the playing field during the last two weeks.

Many have asked to be taken round their old Primary School again to see what changes have been made over the summer and eager to say hello to their Y6 teachers from last year.

They all seem to have settled in well and got used to the High School curriculum which has a strange two weekly cycle. This is due to the number of things on the curriculum they are expected to teach. It can’t all be done in a week , so it is done over a fortnight.

Even in Primary School we have had to make changes that are not as radical as that.

We tend to block together units of history and geography rather than teaching each lesson separately on a weekly basis. If  it becomes compulsory for Primary Schools to teach a foreign language, we might have gto re-adjust the curriculum again.

The High School children found the two weekly cycle quite hard to come to terms with.

They all are given an organiser which looks a bit like the old fashioned filo-fax. The school marking scheme above.

It contains everything they need to know about the school.
