Briefing before the work commences.

The Enginuity museum, a stone’s throw from the famous Iron Bridge Gorge and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, is a “hands on” science museum where pupils can learn about the history of scientific development, forces, materials and design.

The arch is one of the most robust and strongest structures where bridges and buildings are concerned. It has been challenged by the modern suspension bridge.

Arch complete!

Construct a building that will stand up
to a low level and high level earthquake.

The plate on which the pupils construct their building moves and simulates an earth tremour.

about re-cycling waste products

I liked this machine.
You have to create energy physically which is stored.
You then have to see which of the 10 "light weight" household appliances use the most electricity.
The greedy one was actually a Dyson style vacuum cleaner.
A superb excuse to neglect housework!

In each of the 4 zones pupils were given a remote device to point at the red question marks below an exhibit.
They were then given an on screen “TV  style” commentary about the exhibit they had just “zapped”.

out the “Assembly Line” machine.
The morning groups missed out
on this machine in the green zone.
It made its debut in the afternoon.
