Year Six Visit to Beaudesert

Last Friday Year 6 spent a whole day learning maths and science - and loved every minute of it!

Miss Iannarilli arranged the visit in cooperation with education tutors and students from Wolverhampton University. After a fascinating morning walk during which we saw some ancient trees planted at the time of Christopher Columbus, the now ruined Beaudesert house with its old 'ice house' and a badger sett, we were ready for an early lunch. We then met the students who were organising our afternoon activities and spent the rest of the time finding areas and estimating and measuring circumferences and heights of trees. One group even managed to estimate the distance around Castle Ring to 1 metre! It was a very different and absorbing day. The tutors and students were full of praise for the year 6 pupils who were friendly, cooperative and full of enthusiasm for the activities.
