Year 6 Skip To Save Lives
(A sponsored skip for the British Heart Foundation)
Our Sponsored Skip by Grant
Today, 26th February, Cheslyn Hay Primary School’s Year Six pupils did a sponsored skip for the British Heart Foundation.
We got into groups of five or six and were all given two skipping ropes. What we did was we had one person skip first, but once they got tired or stopped person number two started the first skipper giving their skipping rope to person number three to skip and so on. We all did different skipping activities like the slalom, X-it, small rope free style, long rope free style and loads more different skips. Soon we had a fifteen minute break then everyone was asked if they wanted to drop out, but thankfully no one did. Each time we moved to the next skip we were asked if we wanted to stop and still nobody did. When it came to the end of our last skip we had done an amazing 1 hour 25 minutes and 25 seconds.

The year six pupils demonstrated amazing levels of fitness and stamina for this event: they cooperated wonderfully in their groups and showed incredible determination to carry on and raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. If you have not sponsored a year six skipper but would like to contribute to the British Heart Foundation please come to the office or see a Y6 pupil. 25% of the money raised goes directly to our school where it will be spent on playground equipment to help our pupils keep fit and have healthy hearts.
