Dear Parents,
As part of our History topic, Victorian children, we are planning to take Year 5 to The Black Country Museum. The date for this visit is Friday 3rd February. This visit will include a tour of the site, a lesson in the schoolroom and an underground tour of the mines.
The children will need to wear school uniform. As we will be doing a fair amount of walking, it will be necessary for the children to wear sturdy shoes suitable for walking, i.e. school shoes or trainers and waterproof coats in case of rain. They will also need to bring a packed lunch with them, drinks included. Please do not include any nut products or canned or bottled drinks.
If your child is inclined to be sick on coach voyages, please make sure they have taken necessary travel sickness medication. Please ensure any children who have asthma have their inhalers in school.
The cost for this visit will be £9.00, which includes the cost of the visit, the cost of transport and insurance for the children.
Additionally, to avoid having to take time to visit the Gift Shop, the children can pre-order the following gift packs.
Pack 1: Museum note pad and pencil at £1 per pack.
Pack 2a: A colouring card, note pad, badge and pencil at £2 per pack
Pack 2b: A pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser and pocket pen at £2 per pack.
These will be collected from the Gift Shop on the day of the visit. As we need to send in the orders for the gift packs, we would appreciate it if the reply slips could be sent in as soon as possible.
