On an unpredictably cold day at Whigreave Primary School, Featherstone. Cheslyn Hay Year 5/6 Netball team took part in a mini tournament including the host school and Glenthorne Primary School.

The girls despite taking their time to come to grips with the cold and each other worked hard and played as a team throughout improving on their scores as they went. The highlight of the evening a very close final game against eventual winners Glenthorne.

Well battled girls. You did yourselves proud not giving up and sticking with it.

The girls played High 5 Nebtall rules and have shown great dedication since taking up the sport properly in January this year.

Special thanks to: Mrs Field from the High School for umpiring the games. A thankless task and a job I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable doing; Miss Giles from Whitgreave for organising the tournament and enabling the girls’ to take part in a competitive series of games and lastly Mr Ayres at St John’s for picking our girls up and dropping them off again in his school mini bus.
