Y5 Drama Group help run whole school assemblies

“Oh no Mr Tibbetts. You give us this on the playground when we are coming into school first thing in the morning and expect us to run the afternoon whole school assembly?”

Reply – “Sorry ! Yes!”

Maddison Till, Emily Immerfries and Melissa Walkendine rehearse in quad an hour before the assembly is due to start.

Some of the text was really difficult and had to be changed. It was all about Jesus helping two future disciples catch fish and then go on to build a team of 12

Maddy and Emily played the part of two Fish and Chip shop owners who tried to catch fish to fry in the shop.

All they caught initially was a tadpole which, given time, could be served as “Frogs Legs” in the chip shop!

Melissa turned up as Jesus the carpenter looking for a team of helpers  giving advice and eventually recruiting two sceptical fishermen.

This was followed by a reading from the bible
