Cannock District 7-A-Side Tournament held at Gorsemoor Primary School

Saturday 28th April 2007

Our team made up of Year 3 and 4 children

Cheslyn Hay Primary School suffered in this tournament for on having a small Y4 cohort and playing in the large school group stage.

Despite this though, Cheslyn Hay battled hard and kept on going to the very end and several other schools complimented us on the improvement we made throughout the tournament and expressed an interest in us playing against them in some small sided mini tournaments.

All players grew in stature as the tournament went on, but more opportunity for our lads to play together will aid their development. Hopefully the long summer evenings can be utilized.

Special mentions to Jack Powell, for his clean sheet, our only one – despite several changes.

Nathan Brown for being a rock solid performer at the back
Jake Davies – for that goal!- a 20 yard screamer with his left foot… that put us 1-0 against St Johns in our first game.
Sam Bradley for some super running with the ball as he grew in confidence. And, Tristan Chambers for listening to instructions – and scoring one and creating one for Ryan Taylor

Parents, thank you also for your support – and ensuring all of the children got safely too and from the tournament. Without you, today would not have been possible!
