High 5 Netball Fixture

On Monday evening Cheslyn Hay played Glenthorne in a friendly Netball fixture at Cheslyn Hay High School Sports Hall.
With Cheslyn Hay SSCo, Eric Field in attendance, to the agreement of both staff, we adapted the High 5 Netball rules slightly and played with an additional center on both teams to assist in transferring the ball from one end of the court to the other.
Four very close matches later, all children taking part have had a wonderful evening, playing some wonderful end to end netball, plenty of shooting, many interceptions and a clear development in the skill of the players.
Glenthorne actually provided two teams for our one to play, so obviously by the end had that bit more in terms of fitness, but to our teams credit, they never gave up battling throughout.
Well done all – from both Glenthorne and Cheslyn Hay.

Honours even
Sometime just around the corner there is the Rotary Club’s Netball tournament on a Sunday. Hopefully I will be receiving some details through soon! Hopefully these girls and boys taking part will be available to take part and represent the school again.
Finally, Friday’s after school, after the Christmas break… we will be running a Netball Club for all of KS2, boys and girls to take part, develop and show their talents for future netball matches and tournaments. 3.15 – 4.30. Come along and have a go!
